Thrombin Chromogenic Substrate S-2238 for Biochemical Diagnosis

Time:2024-01-10 Hits:306
Thrombin Chromogenic Substrate S-2238 is a highly specific synthetic peptide chromogenic substrate designed for the biochemical diagnosis of thrombin. With a molecular formula of H-D-Phe-Pip-Arg-pNA·2HCl and a molecular weight of 625.6, S-2238 exhibits specificity in its reaction with thrombin. Upon hydrolysis by thrombin, it releases p-nitroaniline (pNA), causing the solution to exhibit a yellow color. The quantification of thrombin activity in a sample can be achieved by monitoring changes in the optical density of the solution.

Applications of Thrombin Chromogenic Substrate S-2238
Detection of anti-FXa activity and anti-FIIa activity ratio in unfractionated heparin and low molecular weight heparin.
Accurate measurement of the anti-FIIa activity of unfractionated heparin and low molecular weight heparin.
Assessment of anti-FIIa activity in chemically synthesized substances or tissue extracts.
Testing the concentration of antithrombin in blood samples to diagnose antithrombin deficiency.
Monitoring blood heparin concentrations during surgery.
Production of test kits for automated hematology analyzers.
The versatility of S-2238 makes it a valuable tool for a range of applications in the field of biochemical diagnosis, particularly in assessing thrombin activity and related parameters.
