Spherical Cellulose Acetate is microporous spherical cellulose acetate beads which are obtained by dissolving cellulose acetate in an organic solvent, and dispersing it into a liquid to form sphericities.
They have characteristics including a soft touch, low skin irritation, and good gas permeability; so they have been developed mainly as ingredients of cosmetics. Since they have a moderate oil absorbability and a smaller specific weight comparing with conventional inorganic fine particles, they give a very good feeling and excellent functions to cosmetic products by incorporating into the latter.

CA-77 and CC-88 have the following characteristics:
1) Spherical
2) High physical strengths
3) Highly porous.
They are useful to prepare cosmetics which absorb oil, sebaceous matter and sweat,
and give a stable makeup with a feeling of light duty. Because of their absorbability to
excessive oil and moisture-retaining matters, they have a wide degree of freedom of
incorporation. When used in press cosmetics, they do not cake.
4) Smooth and lubricating with little agglomerating property. Excellent in
dispersibility.
They have less agglomerative than other spherical particles, and so prepare powder
cosmetics with less powder separation.
They result in emulsified cosmetics and lotions with little powder agglomeration,
and so with a good stability and preservability.
5) Safer, nontoxic and low irritative.
6) Excellent in chemical resistance.
7) Very compatible with water and oil.

CA-77 and CC-88 are useful in the following applications:
1) Ingredient of cosmetics such as powder and emulsified cosmetics, lotion, lipstick,
and eyecolor.
2) Slow-release support for pharmaceuticals.
3) Bonding additive of toners.
4) Modifier for pigments and paints.
5) Composite particles (Surface hybridization with titanium dioxide and the like;
hybridoma with hyaluronic acid).
