    It is a group of polypeptide antibiotic produced by Bacillus polymyxa. It is easily soluble in water with hygroscopicity, it is stable in acidic solution, it has antibacterial effect on pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Haemophilus influenzae, Enterobacter spp., Salmonella, Shigella, Bordetella pertussis, Pasteur bacteria and Vibrio gram negative bacteria.
