      Food grade lactose monohydrate is a kind of disaccharide which exists in the milk of mammals, so comes the name. Its molecular structure is condensed and formed by a molecule of glucose and one molecule of galactose. It taste slightly sweet, lactose content is 4% in milk and 5% to 7% in human milk. Industrial Lactose is extracted from whey, it can be used in the manufacture of baby food, candy, artificial milk, etc. In medicine it is used as a flavoring agent.
